Introducing Tales Around The Fire

Published on 23 July 2024 at 23:32

Tales Around The Fire is an opportunity for a community of writers and readers to enjoy storytelling as the string that connects us all. Just as there were no genre limitations for cavemen huddled around a fire in their shelters, there is no genre limitation for submissions to Tales Around The Fire. Poetry, short stories, introductions to novellas or full-length books, songs, or other forms of art are encouraged and accepted.

Tales Around The Fire has a preference for stories which highlight any aspect of the human experience: love, loneliness, curiosity, sadness, joy, anger, art, music, and more. While other themes are accepted, the priority is to come up with a compilation of art that defines what makes humanity human.

That being said, the human experience is diverse! Fantasy is as much a representation of the human experience as poetry, sci fi, or songwriting because storytelling in and of itself is innately human.

Submissions at this time do not have to meet a word minimum/maximum, but all submissions must undergo a review process; if I find it hard to believe that a piece of writing would work well on this platform for logistical reasons, that is grounds for me to deny the content. Additionally, this is not a space for triggering or unhealthy material to be shared irresponsibly and glorified--although I understand that the human experience can include very awful lows, I want this platform to remain a safe and healthy environment for all readers. For that same reason, work that promotes hateful or dangerous language toward any demographic will not be tolerated. I also retain the right to deny any content if I feel it is not in line with what Tales Around The Fire is looking for in quality or content.

Other pieces of media, such as videos, art, and audio, may also be accepted to Tales Around The Fire so long as it also upholds the same standards as I have outlined for written media.

Submissions may be made at any time, and content will be accepted on a rolling basis. There is no submission fee, but there is also no compensation.
